Common uses
This medicine is an appetite suppressant used along with diet, exercise, and behavior therapy for the short-term management of obesity.
Before Using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Adipex. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter
medicine that you are taking. DO NOT USE Adipex if you are also taking guanadrel, guanethidine, furazolidone, fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine,
or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
USE OF Adipex IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have a history of heart conditions, brain or spinal cord disorders, atherosclerosis, high blood
pressure, glaucoma, or hyperthyroidism. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using Adipex.
Directions
Follow the directions for using Adipex provided by your doctor. TAKE Adipex ABOUT 30 MINUTES before a meal. TAKE YOUR LAST DOSE OF THE
DAY at least 4 to 6 hours before bedtime. If you are taking Adipex 1 time a day, take your dose in the morning. STORE Adipex at room
temperature below 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF Adipex,
take it as soon as possible. If it is after noon and you are taking Adipex 1 time a day or after 4 pm and you are taking it more than
1 time a day, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Cautions
DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Adipex for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended
dose or taking Adipex for longer than prescribed may cause serious side effects. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you
are using Adipex. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Adipex. BEFORE YOU HAVE
ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Adipex. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU
PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Adipex during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF Adipex
IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Adipex.
Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Adipex include restlessness, nervousness, difficulty sleeping, or dry mouth. If they continue
or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

If you take too much
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness,
tremor, rapid breathing, confusion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps.
